You may see two leather covers that look close to each other. One is made to order and leaves in 5–7 working days. The other is marked Ready to Ship and leaves in 1–2. The shorter time does not mean that the second cover is made more quickly. It means that this exact cover already exists.
It is one finished physical piece, made before you order it. The leather has already become a cover, and the SLOWLINES logo is already embossed. That is what changes the dispatch time. It does not mean that the personal part has disappeared.
Made for the range, not left over
Ready to Ship covers are made specifically to be sold as part of the SLOWLINES range. They are not leftovers, surplus pieces, seconds, or covers that somebody did not collect. They are a small set of variants made so you can buy a finished cover without waiting for it to be made to order.
This is also why the collection stays small. It is an assortment, not a warehouse. Each cover is one particular piece. Once that cover is sold, it is sold.
Why the price is lower
Every Ready to Ship cover is 10% below the same cover made to order, and the card shows the earlier price struck through. That puts the collection between €58.50 and €76.50, against €65 to €85 for the made-to-order equivalent. It applies to the Ready to Ship pieces, not to a selected few.
The 10% is not a seconds price and it is not compensation for something missing. It is what you get for taking the cover as it was already made — that leather, that finish, A6 — instead of specifying your own. There is no countdown on it: the discount ends when the cover sells.
What is already decided
Every Ready to Ship cover is A6. There is no other size to select for these pieces, so begin with the notebook you already use. If you need A5, look at the made-to-order covers instead.
The SLOWLINES logo is already on the cover, and some Ready to Ship covers come with a notebook insert as well. What you see on the card is the cover as it exists — leather, size and finish are already settled, and none of them can be swapped for this particular piece.
Ready to Ship still includes personalisation
This is the part that is easy to miss. Ready to Ship does not mean that you must take the cover without initials. You can add initials, a name, or a short phrase in foil, and the cover still leaves in 1–2 working days.
You can also choose the elastic colour. The elastic is part of how the cover closes and looks with the notebook inside, so it is still your choice. The cover is ready, but the details that make it yours are still open.
Which collection to open
Choose Ready to Ship if A6 is the right size and you want the shorter dispatch time. Choose a made-to-order cover if you need A5 or want to start with the wider range of covers.
