Two people, Vilnius, started at the end of 2025. The name points at slow living: a cover outlives the notebook inside it, and you keep it while the inside gets replaced.
Below is what we would tell you if you asked us in person.
Before this the workshop made leather watch straps, and before that more or less anything that can be sewn. Covers are what we make now because they are the thing we can make properly every time — there is room in a cover to get every part of it right.
The work is quiet and it repeats, and we like it that way.
Buttero and Freedom come from Conceria Walpier. Buttero is smooth and firm and takes a shine where you hold it. Freedom is a pull-up hide: bend it and the colour lifts to a lighter tone, then settles back, so every crease stays visible.
Pueblo comes from Badalassi Carlo. The surface is brushed and matte, with no shine at all, and it darkens slowly from the oils on your hands.
Dollaro is pebble-grained. Of the five it hides marks best, which matters if the cover lives in a bag.
Ghost Wax is waxed, with a pale marbled surface that shifts as you handle it. No two are alike, and we cannot reproduce a particular pattern on request.
Most covers are 2.2–2.4 mm thick. Pueblo comes a little thinner, 2.0–2.2 mm, and that is enough. Three millimetres would be stiff and heavy and wrong in the hand.
Two sizes. An A6 cover is 158 mm tall, 250 mm open and about 120 mm closed. An A5 cover is 220 mm tall, 350 mm open and about 170 mm closed. In both cases the height is the notebook plus 10 mm.
A trifold adds a wrapping flap: 320 mm open in A6, 450 mm in A5. The flap is narrower than the main panel — 70 mm in A6, 100 mm in A5 — so the closed width stays roughly the same. It holds several notebooks on elastics, and we can cut extra holes to your count if you ask.
Pick the size by the notebook you already use: an A5 book is 148 × 210 mm, an A6 book is 105 × 148 mm.
The leather and the colour. The size. The elastic — 2 mm, in fourteen colours, and a spare comes with every cover. And the personalisation: initials, a name or a short phrase, in gold or silver foil, at no extra cost.
What people ask for most often is not a name. It is a personal mark or symbol that means something to them.
Every cover is made to order and ships in 5–7 working days. Custom sizes may take longer, and we write to you if they will.
The exception is the Ready to Ship section: those are finished pieces sitting in the workshop, one of each, with the logo already stamped. They go out in 1–2 working days.
We do not choose hides by hand. They are ordered from Italy and we do not travel to feel them before buying. After enough orders you learn what a tannery sends you and you trust it. Anyone claiming to personally select every hide for a workshop this size is describing a different business.
We do not work with exotic leathers. There is no pen loop inside the cover. And we cannot promise a specific marking on a waxed hide, because that is not ours to decide.
