Description

Whisky, which is tan that has already started

Whisky Buttero is a warm reddish-amber — roughly where a natural veg-tan hide arrives after a year of being carried. It is the colour people are usually hoping for when they buy undyed leather and then wait for it.

Starting there has consequences. The cover looks settled from the first day, and the changes that follow are subtler than on a pale hide: a deepening rather than a transformation, and a shine building along the spine and the front corner where Buttero polishes under handling.

It is the most forgiving of the light colours. Scratches darken into the surrounding tone instead of standing out pale against it, which is what makes whisky the tan you can carry daily without wincing.

Firm at 2.2–2.4 mm, and it holds a crease exactly where it was folded.

The standard cover uses a modular elastic system and can carry two or three thin notebooks, depending on their thickness. If you need another layout, we can add extra holes and extra elastics before cutting.

The SLOWLINES logo is stamped in the finish you choose for your text: gold foil with gold, silver with silver, blind debossing with no foil on either. We do not mix the two.
Care

Natural leather changes with use

It may darken, soften, gain shine and develop small marks over time – this is part of its character.

To care for your cover, wipe it gently with a dry soft cloth. Avoid soaking, alcohol-based cleaners, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Let the leather age naturally, and use leather balm only when the surface feels dry.
Design

A clean, minimal cover designed for daily writing

Each cover uses a secure elastic system that lets you carry one notebook on the main elastic, with the option to add up to two extra slim notebooks using an additional elastic. This means one cover can hold up to three notebooks in total, depending on the thickness of your inserts.

The construction stays simple on purpose: clean lines, carefully finished edges and enough structure to protect your notebooks without making the cover feel bulky.
