Ginger Freedom Leather Cover

Pull-up leather, and the crease that keeps showing

Freedom Ginger from Conceria Walpier is a pull-up hide: the colour is carried in oils that move when the leather moves. Bend it and the fibres separate slightly, the pigment thins, and a paler streak appears exactly where the bend was.

This is the whole character of the leather. Every fold, every knock against a desk edge, every time it goes into a bag lighter-side-first leaves a lighter line, and then the oils creep back and the line settles — not quite gone, a shade paler than the field around it. A year in, a ginger cover is a record of its own folding, written in lighter and darker.

The starting colour is bright and warm, closer to orange than to tan, and it goes rustier as it ages rather than darker. It is the loudest hide we work with, and it does not stay tidy — which is either exactly what you want or precisely not.

The standard cover uses a modular elastic system and can carry two or three thin notebooks, depending on their thickness. If you need another layout, we can add extra holes and extra elastics before cutting.

The SLOWLINES logo is stamped in the finish you choose for your text: gold foil with gold, silver with silver, blind debossing with no foil on either. We do not mix the two.
