Smooth green that picks up a shine

Buttero in green is dyed through and left smooth, so unlike a grained hide there is nothing breaking the surface — the colour is continuous and it catches light along the spine and the folded edge.

That is what makes this one change: Buttero polishes where it is handled. Within months the spine has a low gloss on it that the flat panels do not, and the green looks deeper in those places. It is a quiet effect and it takes attention to notice, but it is the reason people choose Buttero over a grained leather in the same colour.

The shade is a settled, slightly grey-green rather than a bright one, which keeps it from reading as a novelty item on a desk. It suits a plain cream-paper notebook particularly well.

Firm at 2.2–2.4 mm, so it stands up rather than flopping.

The standard cover uses a modular elastic system and can carry two or three thin notebooks, depending on their thickness. If you need another layout, we can add extra holes and extra elastics before cutting.

The SLOWLINES logo is stamped in the finish you choose for your text: gold foil with gold, silver with silver, blind debossing with no foil on either. We do not mix the two.

Natural leather changes with use

It may darken, soften, gain shine and develop small marks over time – this is part of its character.

To care for your cover, wipe it gently with a dry soft cloth. Avoid soaking, alcohol-based cleaners, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Let the leather age naturally, and use leather balm only when the surface feels dry.

A clean, minimal cover designed for daily writing

Each cover uses a secure elastic system that lets you carry one notebook on the main elastic, with the option to add up to two extra slim notebooks using an additional elastic. This means one cover can hold up to three notebooks in total, depending on the thickness of your inserts.

The construction stays simple on purpose: clean lines, carefully finished edges and enough structure to protect your notebooks without making the cover feel bulky.
