Red Buttero Leather Trifold Cover

A red wrap that closes over everything

The trifold adds a third panel folding over the fore-edge — 70 mm of it on A6, 100 mm on A5 — so the notebook stays shut and the pages stay flat however the bag gets thrown around.

In red, that extra panel is the whole front of the object: one uninterrupted plane of colour with a single vertical line where the flap lands. The fold takes the wear first, and within a couple of months the crease is a shade deeper than the rest. On a dyed-through hide that reads as depth rather than as damage.

Walpier Buttero at 2.2–2.4 mm is firm, and a firm trifold behaves differently from a soft one — it holds the wrap shape instead of relaxing into a curl.

If red is more than you want on a wrap, the same construction exists in burgundy and olive.

The notebook is held on an elastic cord running through the spine, so the block has to bend around the cord. That means softcover notebooks — Midori MD, Stalogy 018, Hobonichi Techo and Cousin, and most sewn softcover journals. Hardcover notebooks do not fit, whatever the outside measurements say.

Personalisation is free: up to 10 characters — initials, a name, a date or a short word — in gold foil, silver foil, or blind debossing with no foil at all. It is placed in the bottom right corner of the front panel, and the impression is permanent: it grows more visible as the leather around it darkens.

The SLOWLINES logo is stamped in the finish you choose for your text: gold foil with gold, silver with silver, blind debossing with no foil on either. We do not mix the two.
