Description
Green-blue, and undecided about which
Ortensia — Badalassi Carlo's own name for it, after the hydrangea. A deep teal on brushed Pueblo: green under warm light, blue under cold, and the brushed surface makes the shift more obvious than a smooth hide would.
Vegetable-tanned leather takes blue-greens badly as a rule: the tan underneath drags them muddy. Badalassi Carlo dye Pueblo through, deeply enough that this one holds, and the tan shows as depth instead of as sludge. It is the most unusual colour in the range and the hardest to photograph honestly.
Where you hold it the nap lies down and the colour drops closer to petrol. The spine leads and the corners follow.
2.0–2.2 mm. Bifold: two panels, a modular elastic through the spine, two or three thin notebooks.
The notebook is held on an elastic cord running through the spine, so the block has to bend around the cord. That means softcover notebooks — Midori MD, Stalogy 018, Hobonichi Techo and Cousin, and most sewn softcover journals. Hardcover notebooks do not fit, whatever the outside measurements say.

The standard cover uses a modular elastic system and can carry two or three thin notebooks, depending on their thickness. If you need another layout, we can add extra holes and extra elastics before cutting.
Personalisation is free: up to 10 characters — initials, a name, a date or a short word — in gold foil, silver foil, or blind debossing with no foil at all. It is placed in the bottom right corner of the front panel, and the impression is permanent: it grows more visible as the leather around it darkens.
The SLOWLINES logo is stamped in the finish you choose for your text: gold foil with gold, silver with silver, blind debossing with no foil on either. We do not mix the two.
Care
Natural leather changes with use
It may darken, soften, gain shine and develop small marks over time – this is part of its character.
To care for your cover, wipe it gently with a dry soft cloth. Avoid soaking, alcohol-based cleaners, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Let the leather age naturally, and use leather balm only when the surface feels dry.
Design
A clean, minimal cover designed for daily writing
Each cover uses a secure elastic system that lets you carry one notebook on the main elastic, with the option to add up to two extra slim notebooks using an additional elastic. This means one cover can hold up to three notebooks in total, depending on the thickness of your inserts.
The construction stays simple on purpose: clean lines, carefully finished edges and enough structure to protect your notebooks without making the cover feel bulky.
