Red Buttero Leather Cover

Description
Red you can find in a bag without looking
A saturated true red, dyed through Walpier's Buttero rather than sprayed on the face. Under the dye is vegetable-tanned leather that keeps working, so this red does not fade toward pink — it goes deeper, and a shade browner at the corners, over the first year.
The bifold is the slim one: front panel, spine, back panel, and a modular elastic system running through the spine that will hold two or three thin notebooks depending on their thickness. Nothing folds over the fore-edge, so the book opens the moment you move the elastic aside.
It is the least discreet cover we make, and that is the reason to buy it. On a desk with five other notebooks this is the one your hand goes to. If you would rather it did not, Burgundy Buttero is the same leather with none of the noise.
2.2–2.4 mm and firm, so you can write on it standing up without a desk.
The notebook is held on an elastic cord running through the spine, so the block has to bend around the cord. That means softcover notebooks — Midori MD, Stalogy 018, Hobonichi Techo and Cousin, and most sewn softcover journals. Hardcover notebooks do not fit, whatever the outside measurements say.

The standard cover uses a modular elastic system and can carry two or three thin notebooks, depending on their thickness. If you need another layout, we can add extra holes and extra elastics before cutting.
Personalisation is free: up to 10 characters — initials, a name, a date or a short word — in gold foil, silver foil, or blind debossing with no foil at all. It is placed in the bottom right corner of the front panel, and the impression is permanent: it grows more visible as the leather around it darkens.
The SLOWLINES logo is stamped in the finish you choose for your text: gold foil with gold, silver with silver, blind debossing with no foil on either. We do not mix the two.
Care
Natural leather changes with use
It may darken, soften, gain shine and develop small marks over time – this is part of its character.
To care for your cover, wipe it gently with a dry soft cloth. Avoid soaking, alcohol-based cleaners, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Let the leather age naturally, and use leather balm only when the surface feels dry.
Design
A clean, minimal cover designed for daily writing
Each cover uses a secure elastic system that lets you carry one notebook on the main elastic, with the option to add up to two extra slim notebooks using an additional elastic. This means one cover can hold up to three notebooks in total, depending on the thickness of your inserts.
The construction stays simple on purpose: clean lines, carefully finished edges and enough structure to protect your notebooks without making the cover feel bulky.
